Library :
The College Library has a collection of more than 40,000
books. The Library provides reading room facilities and borrowing
facilities
to the students and staff subject to Library rules. The
Library has a book bank from where text books are issued on long
term basis to the economically backward students. This Book bank
facility is brought to the knowledge of the students by sending
notice to the class rooms and displaying them on notice board. In
addition there are departmental libraries in all the departments for
ready reference and use of the students. The computerization of the
library data is under progress. Once it is computerized it will be
in a position to provide more facilities to the students and staff.

Hostel :
The College runs two Boy's Hostels and one Girl's Hostel :- 1) New
Koomar Hostel, 2) Maharaja Manindra Chandra Hostel and 3) Maharani
Swarnamoyee Girl's Hostel. These hostels can provide accommodation
for about 120 (New Koomar Hostel), 55 (M.M.C. Hostel), and 75 (M.S.G.
Hostel) students. Candidates desiring accommodation must apply in
prescribed forms to the Superintendents of respective Hostels.
Detailed information would be available in the general notice
board. Another 100 bedded Ladies Hostel is going to be constructed
shortly under the UGC.Special Assistance scheme.

Distance Education:
This college house has a study centre for the Netaji Subhas Open
University for distance education. Regular Counselling programmes
are conducted in the College Centre on Saturdays and Sundays for the
University. The courses which are at present being offered at the
NSOU K. N. College Study Centre are as follows:
1. BDP (B.A.Honours) : Bengali, English, History, Pol.
Science, Economics, Public Administration.
2. BDP (B.Sc. Honours) : Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics,
Botany, Zoology, Geography
3. PG Course (M.A./M.Sc./M.Com.) : Bengali, English, History,
Political Science, Public Administration, Social Work, Education,
Accountancy.
4. Certificate Course : Human Rights, Co-Operative & Co-Operator.
5. Diploma Course : Bachelor of Library Information Science (BLIS),
Master of Library Information Science(MLIS), Journalism and Mass
Communication (JMC).
6. PGELT (Post Graduate English Language Teaching).
7. ELT (English Language Teaching).
8. BPP (Art & Commerce) (Bachellor Preparatory Programme) 6
months.
9. PBRSSM (Paschim Banga Rajya Sishu Siksha Mission).

Computer Centre :
Krishnath College Computer Centre (Phone no: 03482-258390) recognised by the
DOEACC (Govt. of India) &
approved by the AICTE (All India Council of Technical
Education) for ‘O’-Level (one year), ‘A’-Level equv. PGDSE
(one and half year) & ‘CCC’ (three months) course. The
courses have been designed to train the student in computer
technology by and efficient group of teachers at an affordable
course fees in assistance with
The Institute of Computer Engineers (India). An academic
committee with the Principal of the concerned college as the
Chairman is looking after the academic affairs of the centre. The
certificate of these courses is recognised by the Directorate
of Employment, Govt. of West Bengal.
5) N.C.C.
: The
N.C.C. Unit of the College is affiliated to the 9 Bengal BN. N.C.C.
Every year cadets join several National-level and state level camps.
6) N.S.S.
: The
College has an Unit of the National Service Scheme. The student
volunteers are engaged in various community Development programmes
and other camps organised by the parent body of the Unit.

Student's Common Room : The
Students Common Room is provided with Indoor games like TT, Carrom,
Chess etc. along with daily news papers, and with a TV. This Common
Room has a permanent stage which is used by the Student's Union to
perform various programmes like Mock-Parliament, Teacher's day
Celebration etc. A separate Ladie's Common Room is also there in the
Main Building of the College. It is also equipped with necessary
items.

Gymnasium :
A Well-equipped Multi-gymnasiu, for the students and staff of the
college has been constructed with the assistance of HRD Ministry,
Govt. of India.
9)
Canteen :
There is a Canteen which provides students with simple snacks at an
affordable price.

Alumni Association :
The Alumni Association of the College - 'Praktani'
endeavors to stand by the side of the present students by holding
various programmes and providing help to the poor and meritorious
students. Every ex-student of this college is eligible to be a
member of this Association. The Association provides a link between
the present students and the Ex-students.
11)
Student-Teacher Co-ordination Committee :
A grievance-redressal cell formed by the Teacher's Council and
approved by the G. B., K. N. College, is there to redress the
pacific grievances (if any) of the students or to hold meetings for
making recommendations to the G.B., K. N. College for specific
issues for the betterment of the college.
12) Anti
Ragging Cell :
There is an Anti Ragging Cell, comprising of Hostel Supdts.,
Teachers, Principal, Non-teaching Representatives, Secretary
Teacher's council and a student's Representative. Any sort of
ragging in the Hostel or in the College premises are strictly
Prohibited. |
